Kalyanji-Anandji were better known as the Funk brothers of India. Having a completely different approach in music direction, they composed some of the best Spy music/Funk scores during the 1970s and 1980s for Hindi Cinema. They were heavily influenced by Lalo Schifrin. Here's an example of Sleaze Funk from the movie Bombay 405 Miles. The single was published on a rare 45 with Side-B containing a really funky groove or I must say Turkish Funk groove from around 1979-80 by an artist called Baris Manckow. Never heard of that guy before. However, the track seems to be really rare since I did not find much information on Google. Also, the artist seems to be gone from people's minds too. No info on him either. Here we are, with my very first vinyl rip.
Currently I am using Audacity and Sony Sound Forge to rip and edit the records. If you have any suggestions regarding the quality of the sound or anything related, please let me know. I am still learning. Thanks!

Another triumph!

Actually came across Bombay 405 awhile back on "Music From the 3rd Floor" I believe. Nothing beats Kalyanji-Anandji in prime form!

As for your Turkish song, I'm relatively certain the artist in question is actually Bariş Manço. He looms quite large in the pantheon of Anatolian Rock.

I'm far from an expert, but I'd wager the track in question is a later era re-recording of Vur Ha Vur from his classic 2023 LP from 1975. Actually the vocal take sounds pretty much the same, so maybe just the instrumentation was recut?

Awesome, tnx! Any idea why there's the Bombay 405 song on the one side and a Turkish one on the other? Aside from the fact that they're both excellent?

Haha

Gotta ask the record producers about that one!
Probably and quite affirmatively cuz the song sounds extra excellent than Vurhavur.

by the way the Turkish artist is not Baris MANCKOW. his name is Barış Manço and is a legend in Turkish music. he was active since the 1950's and is one of the pioneers of Turkish Rock Music. he is also known as one of the first representers of Anadolu Rock, wich is a fusion of Rock and traditional Turkish music. during the 1970's he was well-known for his funky sound. Manco had a few bands during his career. he started with the combo Harmoniler. in Belgium he founded Les Mistigris. back in Turkey he unite with the band Kaygisizlar. after that period he was seen with his legendary group Kurtalan Ekspres.
